- After seeing yet another $XXX.XX on c.s.n.announce the other night,
- rather than yell or reboot my cube, I posted a call for people willing
- to vote to send me mail so that I can make a credible call for a vote
- on this single issue: Leaving prices in, instead of emasculating all
- those sexy product announcments :-)
-
- So far, 10 people have said they want prices, and a vote, 1 wants
- no prices, one just wants to be able to vote on the matter. Also,
- ye excellent moderator, todd@liveware.com sent me a message asking
- me to retract my request for a vote. Todd, who does great service to
- us people by moderating C.s.n.a states that I am interfering with his
- efforts to clarify the issue by his "questionnaire". He also points
- out that I am not a moderator of "the groups".
-
- As I said previously, todd does great work. However I think that,
- on this one issue, he is wrong: People want prices. I think that if told
- sufficiently often, very politely, by many people, he will come around
- to respecting the majority opinion. Such majority opinion can only be
- determined by a vote, and I, and 10 others, want one.
-
- As to the fact that I am not moderator of "the groups": csnm is un-moderated,
- the archetypal electronic anarchy, and I believe that anyone who stays polite
- and does not oveload the available bandwith is entitled to make his opinions
- heard.
-
- So, I wish ppeople to continue sending me (eronald@cnam.cnam.fr) and todd
- ( todd@liveware.com) their views on a vote about prices on c.s.n.a, and
- I request that todd take his views on the matter of a vote on this issue
- to public debate right here on csnm.
-
- Thank you for your patience with this huge post!
-
- Edmund.
