- I got a blurb in the mail today from a computer supply place, and one of
- the things in the catalog is a floptical drive--you know, a SCSI beastie
- that will do canonical 3.5" 720K and 1.44M disks AND do special floppy
- disks that will hold 20 Mbytes.
-
- Anyway, I got to wondering...the brand name mentioned is "GrassRoots
- Removable Disk Technology." A company I have heard of in the past that
- makes this sort of drive is Insite. Question: are we talking two
- incompatible drives here, or are we dealing with the same format?
- Heck, for all I know, GrassRoots may be an OEM for Insite, or something
- of that sort.
-
- I'm curious, because I'm thinking semi-seriously (when I have money :-)
- about getting one from somebody, and I'd hope that there aren't two
- different formats out there.
-
- Please email; I'll summarize if there's sufficient response and
- interest. Thanks.

- (Unassociated with either company mentioned in the above text, save that
- perhaps I'll be a customer of one of them someday--also, of course, any
- opinions expressed in the above are purely those of the author.)
