- Provided your RC3240 is running RISCos 4.52 or later you should have no
- problem. We have a 3260 here on the SGI UK net running as a YP slave
- with RISCos 4.52 . We also have a Millennium with 5.01 Beta running as
- a client.
-
- RISCos 5.x ships with startup templates for master, clients and slaves
- (submaster) in /etc/init.d - just link the required one to yp.
- (Note that we found yp to be broken in the R4K 5.0B release - this is will
- be fixed in 5.0.1)
-
- If you are running 4.52 you will have to create your own startup scripts.
- Examples are in the release notes (see below).
- Note that with RISCos you need to set up your /etc/vis.conf file as
- well. See the manual page on vis.
-
- If you have RISCos 5.x, chapter 13 of the System Admin Guide Vol 2 is where
- you need to look for NIS detail. For RISCos 4.52 it's in Chapter 12 volume 1
- of the System Administrators guide, along with updates in the Release Notes
- (online copies in /usr/pkg/rn on the system). In the 4.52 release notes,
- most information you need is in Appendix D, with some corrections in the main
- body of the notes.
