- Lines: 40
-
- I earlier asked:
-
- >Is there a known incompatibility between the Alysis compatibility init
- >for the quadra and Superclock?
-
- Since no one else seemed to have this problem, I did a little more
- checking. Turns out that the following inits (and no others) cause the
- problem (running a program that's incompatible with the cache and
- clicking on the superclock causes a crash):
-
- BeHierarchic 1.0.2
- MediaManagerInit 2.23 [used with Mirror Syquest drive]
- Superclock 3.9.1
- Alysis Compatibility Init 2.2
- System 7 Tuneup 1.1.1
-
- Removing any of the first three clears up the problem. Also, using
- BeHierarchic 1.0.5 clears up the problem, but it creates a different
- one: Sometimes, when running a program that's incompatible with the
- cache, selecting something from the apple menu (like a control panel)
- takes about a minute. The menu goes away, and the apple stays
- highlighted until the CP comes up. Once, when I tested this, the system
- crashed after the CP came up.
-
- Of course, using a different set of inits causes this problem:
-
- BeHierarchic 1.0.2 OR SuperClock 3.9.1 [or both]
- Alysis Compatibility Init 2.2
- System 7 Tuneup 1.1.1
- File Sharing Extension
- Network Extension
-
- If I remove both BeHierarchic and Superclock, everything seems to work
- fine. If I use the Apple Cache Control instead of Compatibility Init,
- everything works fine, no matter what inits I run (but Cache Control is
- a pain). For now, I've turned off BeHierarchic and Superclock, but if
- anyone has any information about this, I'd appreciate it.
