- Hi, netters.
-
- (Please excuse this message if you have seen it before. I am having
- problems posting news and have recieved no responses to this query.
- Thanks for you patience.)
-
- My group at work has a "floater" PB170 that is typically used when
- one of us is traveling. All this really means is that it's difficult
- to remove something and easy to add stuff to the Mac because you
- can't know what someone else added that they'll expect the next
- time they use it.
-
- So here's my problem. The system file is nearly 2Meg with very little
- space left on the HEAP (8 Meg in the machine.) I've tried using
- HeapFixer V1.01 but it won't let me set the heap size any larger
- than it is.
-
- It keeps running out of space, not constantly, but often enough to
- be obnoxious. To run ResEdit (which I do frequently because I'm
- learning Think C on it) I have to re-start with the <shift> button
- down to turn off the extension applications.
-
- It's a pain!
-
- Any ideas how I can solve this, short of deleting all my fonts
- or removing a bunch of extension applications? Is there a more
- current version of HeapFixer or a better program for System 7?
-
- Thanks in advance.
