- A colleague has just unpacked a Classic II, 2M, 40HD. The system software was
- not installed (my more recent experience has been that the computers have come
- with the system installed). She did the installation (I was not there to watch)
- which included installation of Word 4.0 and a version of M.S. Works. During
- this process or shortly after, folders and apps began flipping out of sight
- and then back in (sometimes). Upon hearing about this I loaned her a copy of
- the System 7 Tuneup and advised her to rebuild from scratch. She has done this,
- has run the Tuneup, etc. with better success. However, Word and Works did not
- work. The Word folder shows on the desktop, but cannot be opened (a dialog
- reports that the folder cannot be found.) She called a local dealer who
- advised that she need to upgrade her copies of Word and Works. She has
- ordered these. She is now trying to delete the Word folder with no success.
- Its get-info box cannot be viewed either. We tryed starting up from
- the Tools disk in the hope that we could get at the folder that way. No
- success. The is also a trash folder which cannot be deleted.
- Can anyone help or point us to a FAQ file which might help?
