- I've had a look at the material on info-mac for customizing the System 7
- Finder and while I've added some keyboard equivalents to "Empty Trash",
- etc, there doesn't seem to be a way for achieving some of the
- customizations possible with the System 6 Finder's LAYO resource:
- 1) a double-click on a window title bar activates the parent
- folder window
- 2) changing the line-spacing in the "By Name/Size/Kind/Date" Views.
- In System 6 I reduced it from the default 16 points to 13pt.
- Particularly on the small Mac screens this considerably increased
- 'information density' without being too crowded. Now, some parts of
- Finder 6.x had the default value of 16 hard-coded, and fixing those
- I could find left a few visual flaws: click-dragging & the graying
- of the vertical scroll bar still seemed to be based on the default
- value. I could have spent more time probing the Finder code, but I
- could live with those problems.
-
- Any advice is welcome but I would appreciate an email copy of anything
- posted to NetNews - I don't always have the time to keep up, and
- sometimes our server manages to lose a big chunk of articles. NB my
- preferred email address is underlined below.
