- I have a question for some printer/system gurus.
-
- We have a heterogeneous network consisting of a lot of Macs, a Sun, and
- a pc. The Macs all talk to a LaserWriter IINT through an EtherWrite
- box (Compatible Systems). One Mac runs system 7; the remainder of the
- Macs run system 6.0.8. The two Macs in question are A) a Classic with
- 4MB RAM and a SCSI box (Asante) to connect to our ethernet and B) an
- SE/30 with 5MB RAM and ethernet card (also Asante). The system 7 Mac
- was not even running today.
-
- When the fellow with the SE/30 prints, he finally reaches a point when
- the "little watch comes up" and no output issues from the LaserWriter.
- The only cure for this is to restart his machine (after which he will
- again reach this point within a number of print jobs). The Classic
- seems to work just fine. The SE/30 owner tells me that this happens
- with or without background printing on.
-
- In examining the system folder of each, I note that the SE/30 owner has
- AppleTalk v 57.0.3 and the classic has AppleTalk v 56. Do we need v 57.
- 0.3? Is this the cause of the problem? What do you suggest I do in this
- case? Color Quickdraw is on both machines.
-
- Thanks in advance.

- BTW - Yes! I used the INSTALLER in both cases!
