- Not much longer: AppleScript is in alpha and beta testing is expected
- soon. Believe me, the people responsible are not spending their time
- thinking of reasons to hold off the release. They want to get their work
- out to users, but it's no simple thing to make major system-level
- enhancements. AppleScript is a completely new user interface for
- applications, one that will operate in parallel with the familiar
- menu/button/keystroke interface. This is uncharted territory, and the
- AppleScript team has the additional constraint of dealing with an existing
- application architecture and programming model. For people who want to
- get a lot of work done with their computers AppleScript should be as
- empowering as the original Mac interface; it'll be well worth the wait.
