- My LC has occasionally had problems with sound:

- - Startup sound is fine (too loud for my taste)
- - Once up and running, beep sounds are silent or barely audible (much
- softer
- than the "1" setting on the control panel. The menu bar never flashes.
- - Setting the sound to max volume and back down usually fixes it (not
- always). Other times a restart fixes it.

- I ruled out speaker contacts because the startup sound is always there. I

- looking for an init conflict, but couldn't reproduce the problem
- consistently
- enough to get very far.
