- After looking in the FAQ, I find I still need to post this. I am a
- novice using C on the Mac, and I am trying to use the File Manager for
- the first time. I need to do ops on a preferences file in the system
- folder for my app. My question, after going through IM I-V and the FAQ,
- is how do I figure out the reference info (ie volRefNum, dirRefNum or
- whatever) for the currently active System Folder so I can figure out if
- my app already has a prefs file and where to write to it? The only
- thing I can find in IM is a global called bootDrive, but I don't know if
- that's what I need. In any case, any help would be much appreciated!
- Thanks for your patience. :-)
