  13. Well, I read (in a novel actually) that, under British law, the 
  14. copyright of correspondence belongs to the sender, but the physical
  15. medium (i.e., the paper) belongs to the receiver.  This would
  16. suggest that redistributing email without permission infringes
  17. the sender's copyright.  The novel, BTW, is A.S. Byatt's "Possession",
  18. which is a very good read.
