- OK, I am applying for an Apple Student Loan to get a PowerBook 145
- from the MicroCenter here at the University of Texas. Actually, my
- mother is applying since I am on a fellowship, and therefore technically
- not "employed" ;-) She is about to send the form in for the requested
- amount, but now I'm starting to wonder if I should apply for this amount.
-
- I have been hearing that the PB 160 is going to come out at the 145 price.
- What is the _source_ of this information? Does this mean that the PB 145
- will drop in price? (I know it is not being discontinued.) I would hate
- to take out a loan for a machine, and have a better machine (16 gray
- shades, and ability to drive a color monitor easily) come out at
- the same price 4 weeks later... 4 months, maybe, but not 4 weeks!
-
- My questions are this: will the PB _definitely_ come out at the PB 145
- price, or is this just myth? Is it definitely coming out on Oct. 19?
- Can I order it _before_ that date? How soon will local MicroCenters know
- what it's price will be?
-
- Any email responses will be summarized and posted to the net.
-
- Thanks!
