  11. Recently there was a discussion about how great a company Apple was, partly
  12. because they're so heavily into recycling.  I came across this in a recent
  13. TidBITS:

  20.   Geez, talk about silly policies. It seems that at every chance
  21.   Apple takes one step forward and two backward! I recently called
  22.   the Apple toll free number to request 50 return labels for the
  23.   Apple Toner recycling campaign. If you have a used Apple-label
  24.   toner cartridge, Apple will prepay the shipping for you to return
  25.   the spent toner cartridge. Apple then donates 50 cents to the
  26.   National Wildlife Federation and the Nature Conservancy. Seems
  27.   like a good deal, but wait, there's more!

  29.   I asked for 50 labels since I wanted to pass them out to members
  30.   of my user group at the next meeting. The pleasant fellow at the
  31.   other end said he could only send me one! I said, "One. Doesn't it
  32.   make sense to send more than one, because if 50 of my members call
  33.   and request labels as well, Apple wastes paper, envelopes,
  34.   postage, and so on? Did I miss something here? Isn't this suppose
  35.   to help reduce waste?"

  38.   I will receive THREE labels!

  41.   corporate America!

  44. I have to agree with the author of this bit.  I don't know if anyone with any
  45. pull at Apple is listening, but someone ought to tell the left hand what the
  46. right one is doing.
