  14.   A friend of mine has an LC with 16 colors. The weird thing is, whenever 
  15. i go to the Monitors Control Panel and set it to 16 colors, it goes back to
  16. black and white mode. The apple icon on the apple menu is black and white
  17. and icons are displayed in black and white (unless it's labeled, then the 
  18. whole thing is one color). Programs still work in Color.

  20. He's running System 7.

  22. I tried replacing the monitors cp, the finder, and eventually the entire
  23. system. no help. No, when i switch to 16 colors, it goes to 16 colors, until
  24. i leave the monitors control panel. then back to black and white, although
  25. it still says i'm in 16 colors.

  27. anyone seen this behavior? help!
