- I'm trying to connect an IBM 4019 printer with 4 MB memory and a Postscript
- option to a Mac IIsi via the serial port. I've found the excellent driver
- hacks labeled DMM Laserwriter Drivers v1.2.2 however I've failed to get
- them to work so far. I've tried a straight Laserwriter driver 7.1.1 with
- only serial code enables and I've also tried the 7.1.1 driver with serial
- code and
- Mac Dictionary and Truetype engine removed. Both seem to communicate to
- the printer just fine but the job just runs in the 4019 for a long time and
- then usually cancels out (or runs forever or one day, whichever is longer).
-
- Is there something in the DMM utility that I've missed or perhaps another
- utility that I should use? Lexmark, the makers of the printer, say that
- the Macintosh drivers are only included if you buy the additional Appletalk
- package for another $350 list.
-
- Thanks, jcb
