- Forgive me if I've got it wrong but doesn't the old tuneup and prior
- result in a problem where the files disappear from view completely and
- not just cause their icons to turn to generic form?

- I believe we are taking about 2 DIFFERENT problems here. Indeed I experience
- the icon->generic form repeatably. Disk first-aid reports no problems,
- under some circumstances (yet to be determined) icons may be coerced
- into returning to their non-generic forms by remaking the desktops while
- applications owning the faulty icons are mounted on other volumes.

- I run 7.0.1 with tuneup 1.1.1 and have not run without tuneup1.1.1 on the
- disk in question.
