  46. Forgive me if I've got it wrong but doesn't the old tuneup and prior
  47. result in a problem where the files disappear from view completely and
  48. not just cause their icons to turn to generic form?

  50. I believe we are taking about 2 DIFFERENT problems here. Indeed I experience
  51. the icon->generic form repeatably. Disk first-aid reports no problems,
  52. under some circumstances (yet to be determined) icons may be coerced
  53. into returning to their non-generic forms by remaking the desktops while
  54. applications owning the faulty icons are mounted on other volumes.

  56. I run 7.0.1 with tuneup 1.1.1 and have not run without tuneup1.1.1 on the
  57. disk in question.
