  14. A silent Mac sometimes may be a blessing. HOWEVER, you'll probably want to
  15. choose when it falls silent. Try inserting a microplug into the speaker jack on
  16. the back of your Mac and then removing it. That connection, designed to disconnect
  17. internal sound when an external jack is plugged, may be dysfunctional.
