  25. I don't need MIPS/MFlops to do word processing.  I need something that
  26. is powerful enough to do what I want, and easy enough to use that I can
  27. do what I want in a reasonable time frame.  Fast enough to keep up with
  28. me is fine (especially if I'm using something besides Word 5.0, aka
  29. "PigWord") -- and that's a Classic or PB100.

  31. Once again, the PC fans are pushing hardware numbers, hardware numbers,
  32. hardware numbers.  Just remember, nobody ever wanted a 3/4" drill, they
  33. just want a 3/4" hole.

  35. If I just wanted "best MIPS for $6K," I'll go buy a SPARCstation ELC, or
  36. HP PA, or RS/6000 or something, and put up with Unix.  Or I'll rent
  37. $6000 worth of time on a Connection Machine.
