- I have taken fonts & sounds in and out, and system size always reflects the
- alterations. Also, check the extensions and control panels, as well as
- apple menu items folder to make sure you have only what you want, and
-
- I have managed to create a wonderfully functional system with a variety
- of fonts and sounds, and extensions I want for under 2 meg, and a version
- that
- fits on a HD floppy with room to spare.

- Wait! Wait! I don't think your system has expanded to 14 Meg. This is
- probably the most common FAQ on this group. You need to turn on 32-bit
- addressing in the memory control panel. Until you do, the Mac can only
- address approx. 8 Meg and the rest is _shown_ as being taken up by the
- system. This is supposed to comfort you in knowing that the Mac knows
- it is there, but cannot use it. It has only succeeded in confusing the
- hell out of many lucky (they can afford 12-20 Meg!) Mac users...
-
- Good luck!
