- I have had a few more problems with SpaceSaver, and possibly solved the earlier
- ones: in my previous post I mentioned how files became corrupt and unusable.
- This occurred while transferring files over Appletalk between two machines with
- identical system software and Stuffit Deluxe 3.0/SpaceSaver installed. In all
- instances (including several more today) the error I received prior to having
- to restart my system was "Bad F-Line Command". This occurred when SpaceSaver
- started doing its compression scan while I was xferring files over Appletalk
- networks. Maybe something there interfered with SpaceSaver?
-
- Also: Tried to rebuild my desktop today. It got halfway done and then quit,
- leaving everything from my System Folder on up in the alphabetical hierarchy
- untouched (therefore iconless; only generic document/application
- icons...yuch!). If I rebuild without SpaceSaver turned on, NOTHING gets the
- proper icons EXCEPT the System folder. I have tried all these things (file
- transfers, desktop rebuilds) with NO extensions active EXCEPT the Stuffit
- Deluxe/SpaceSaver set. If anyone has had similar problems or can help me solve
- mine, PLEASE let me know...the Stuffit software works great, SpaceSaver seems
- every bit as good as AutoDoubler in terms of speed and compression, but MAN am
- I having a bear of a time getting everything to settle down!
