  13. Somehow my SYSTEM file has been expanded beyond usefulness.  I have a Mac IIci
  14. with 20 Megs of memory, System 7.0.x.  After running out of memory trying to
  15. run a second (!) application, I looked at the Finder info and I see the system
  16. is occupying 14+ Megabytes.

  18. I know that with System 6, if you add fonts or DA's the system file expands to
  19. contain these and does not shrink back when you remove them again.  Is this
  20. the case with System 7 as well (ie. with fonts and sounds)?  How do I get a
  21. 'reasonable' size System file back again?

  23. I know I could boot off a floppy and replace the system file, but surely Apple
  24. would have come up with a better way to do this...
