- Somehow my SYSTEM file has been expanded beyond usefulness. I have a Mac IIci
- with 20 Megs of memory, System 7.0.x. After running out of memory trying to
- run a second (!) application, I looked at the Finder info and I see the system
- is occupying 14+ Megabytes.
-
- I know that with System 6, if you add fonts or DA's the system file expands to
- contain these and does not shrink back when you remove them again. Is this
- the case with System 7 as well (ie. with fonts and sounds)? How do I get a
- 'reasonable' size System file back again?
-
- I know I could boot off a floppy and replace the system file, but surely Apple
- would have come up with a better way to do this...
