  15. I have a simple question I hope you can help me to answer.

  17. Suppose I have a script with the following line:

  19. put "name 2" & return & "name 5" & return & "name 21" & return &
  20.    "name 1" & return into abc
  21.  
  22. and I want to sort the lines in that var by the number which is the last word
  23. of each line.
  24.  
  25. We have tried just about everything we can think of, (short of an XCMD ;-> )
  26. and cannot get hypercard to do this sort for us.  BTW, HC 2.1, sys 7,
  27. mac IIcx.
  28.  
  29. We have tried everything outlined in clarus's HC2.1 book and kamin's
  30. HC2.0 book, and either it tells us it doesn't understand arguments
  31. to sort or appears not to sort, after pausing briefly.

  33. Before you rush off and send in your "hey, you dummy" response, give
  34. it a try on YOUR system.
