- Hey, macnetters:
-
- I have a simple question I hope you can help me to answer.
-
- Suppose I have a script with the following line:
-
- put "name 2" & return & "name 5" & return & "name 21" & return &
- "name 1" & return into abc
-
- and I want to sort the lines in that var by the number which is the last word
- of each line.
-
- We have tried just about everything we can think of, (short of an XCMD ;-> )
- and cannot get hypercard to do this sort for us. BTW, HC 2.1, sys 7,
- mac IIcx.
-
- We have tried everything outlined in clarus's HC2.1 book and kamin's
- HC2.0 book, and either it tells us it doesn't understand arguments
- to sort or appears not to sort, after pausing briefly.
-
- Before you rush off and send in your "hey, you dummy" response, give
- it a try on YOUR system.
-
- We look forward to being set straight.
