- I just bought a ZOOM 14,400 baud FAX/Modem, v.32, v.32bis, auto-this,
- auto-that, etc. Unfortunately, in August, it was shipping with a package
- called QuickLink II, which isn't bad, except that it crashes my system
- regularly.
-
- I decided to call ZOOM to ask them to lay some pressure on the publishers of
- QuickLink to fix the major bug I found. They said they are no longer shipping
- QuickLink II with their modems. Now they ship FaxSTF.
-
- So I said, "Great...Can you please send me a copy and I'll send back
- QuickLink?" Nope. They can't send FaxSTF to anyone unless it is bundled with
- a modem. And to buy it will cost me $89. And tough patooties to me for buying
- it in August instead of September.
-
- So, I just thought I'd provide my $.02 to anyone who is considering buying a
- ZOOM Fax/Modem. Oh, and by the way, the modem _is_ great, and FaxSTF is
- supposed to be nice, so maybe my story won't affect anyone smart enough to wait
- until September.
-
- Sorry for complaining on bandwidth, but I just thought it needed to me said.
