- I've bought a DeskWriter last year and never been upset by this choice.
-
- I've compared the output quality of both printers with a complex
- "LaserWriter +" test document. The DeskWriter seems to perform better.
- - best gray pattern matches with screen view (better than the LaserWriter
- +)
- - faster than the StyleWriter
- - more rugged than the Apple's toy
- - Sharp thin line, (better than the LaserWriter +)
-
- On the other side the StyleWriter is lightweight and more suitable for
- transportation.
- The cost of a DeskWriter is bit higher.
-
- Finally, hp seems to be very agressive in the printer market with color
- printers, upgrade availability and evolving printer driver. ( my first
- driver version was 1.30 . Now I'm at version 3.1 with spooling capability
- and it cost my nothing since I ftp the stuff from summex-aim.stanford.edu
