- [My last attempt at this post appears to have been munged. Try again]
-
- Occasionally, while booting, my PowerBook 100 has encountered system
- extensions that were corrupted or had errors for some reason. This
- is not the problem. The problem is that when the PowerBook crashes,
- it doesn't bring up Macsbug or a System Error dialog - instead the
- screen just goes black. Entirely black with two red (yes, red!) lines
- the width of one pixel, going right across the screen.
-
- One of the lines is about halfway down the screen and the other is
- about a quarter of the way down (according to my memory).
-
- I have always fixed this problem by booting with the shift key down,
- and replacing the errant system extension.
-
- My question is: is this behaviour normal? (The PowerBook's, not mine. :-) )
- What's happening?
