- The SCSI bus in the Quadra's is *not* SCSI-2, and therefore it wouldn't
- make any difference whether or not the drive itself supported SCSI-2.

- If the Quantum is faster, it's because it is physically faster (i.e. head
- movement & rotation speed) or electrically faster (transfer rate, which is
- in some ways dependent on the drive being physically faster). Quantum's
- also have very good caching algorithms which can make their drives appear
- to be faster than others.

- Keep in mind that while most drives on the market these days are SCSI-2
- *command complient*, only a few are actually capable of doing SCSI-2 Fast
- transfers (i.e. up to 10MB/second). And in order to do a SCSI-2 Fast transfer,
- you need a true SCSI-2 bus, which none of the current Macintosh models have.
