- I recently connected an Apple CD150 to my
- LCII. On the SCSI chain is an Apple One
- Scanner, an external and internal hard disk
- and of course the CPU itself.
-
- First I was having problems with just booting
- the CPU. With the CD in the SCSI chain, the
- system would boot up to the point of showing
- the desktop, then the system would hang, crash
- or bomb (take your pick, they all happened).
-
- Moving the CD to another area of the SCSI chain
- fixed that problem but produced others.
-
- 1) If I have a CDROM in the drive when I shutdown
- the CPU, the CDROM often does not eject.
-
- 2) Sometimes I cannot eject a CD by either cmd-e or
- dragging it to the waste basket because I get the
- error message, "Cannot eject because this CDROM is
- being shared", which it of course is not. I am
- forced to reboot.
-
- 3) When I have no CDROM in the drive, I often get
- the message, "this disk is unrecongnizable, do you
- want to eject or initialize it". An icon is shown
- indicating an external floppy drive (or is it
- suppose to be the CD Drive?).
-
- About the SCSI chain. All the cables are high
- quality. There are 2x1foot plus 1x3 foot cables.
- There is one terminator. All devices are apple
- branded (no internal terminators). There are no
- duplicate SCSI addresses. I am running 7.0.1 with
- 1.1.1 tuneup. The CDROM drive is V3.1.
-
- Any Ideas? Help!
-
- Thanks, John DeRosa
