  11.   Exactly why are SuperDrives so expensive? They seem to be the
  12. same as PC drives (which I'm told can read Mac disks with the 
  13. proper software), only $220 (minimum for the Applied Engineering
  14. 1.44 drive) compared to $50 for a 1.44 PC drive. They eject 
  15. automatically, but what else is different? Is there any way 
  16. to fool a Mac into using a PC drive with the right cable and 
  17. manually ejecting at the right time?

  19.   Similarly, is there a difference between the heads of the units?
  20. Mine are bad, and need to be replaced. They seem to cost $120 for
  21. a new set, which is twice as much as 2 whole PC drives.
