- I recently purchased a Microtek ScanMaker 600ZS flatbed color scanner.
- When I first hooked it up, it registered only the first use. Once I turned
- the power off and came back later, it would not mount (I used SCSI Probe 3.4
- to see if it was registered on the chain). I was informed by a friend that
- I needed a SCSI terminator on it, since it was the last device on the chain.
- I went out and bought the terminator, and hooked it up. I works fine. MOST
- of the time. Sometimes when I turn the power off and then turn it back on
- a minute later, neither the scanning software nor SCSI Probe will not register
- the scanner. Restarting the scanner and/or the computer does not help. My
- only solution seems to be to wait an hour or two and then turn the scanner
- back on. It's worked fine that way, except I don't always *have* an hour or
- two to wait.

- System specifics:
- Mac IIci 20/240
- System 7.0.1, Tune-Up 1.0.1
-
- SCSI IDs:
- 0 Quantum Hard Disk [internally terminated]
- 6 Microtek Scanner (when it works) [externally terminated]
- 7 Mac IIci
-
- Yes, I've checked to make sure the scanner software/hardware is configured for the right IDs. I'm at a loss to what could be causing the problem.
-
- Thanks in advace for any responses!
