- Well, bye everyone, I am leaving the Mac to start programming
- Atari Falcons running Windows NT. NOT!
-
- However, my Apple 21" screen has burnt out FOR THE SECOND TIME
- IN 9 MONTHS! The first 6 months, it was driven by Quadra Internal
- Video, and during that time decided to crackle, emit smoke, and
- die horribly after 5 months.
-
- Now, being driven by a screen card, and a few months after
- getting back from the warranty adjustment needed after the
- warranty repair, it does the same thing again. NO, it's not
- the cat's fault, since I taped nails on top of the monitor to
- avoid using it as heated cat resting place.
-
- I am somewhat underwhelmed by Apple equipment performance in
- this regard, and couple that with the annoying and serious
- bug in the new sound chip in Quadras, PowerBooks and other new
- macs (that makes sound go silent after random time) makes me
- start to wonder wether the low-cost push in the consumer market
- is dragging down the high-end quality as well? If I pay a premium
- price from Apple, I expect to receive premium quality (and did so
- with all macs I've had before the Quadra & PowerBook)
-
- Even the PowerBook has been having random re-boots and lock-ups
- of the ADB port; changing to a new one was the only thing that
- helped.
-
-
- So, steam's out, I'll return to mu scheduled - uh, it's 1am,
- okay, sleep tight.
