- Instead of worrying about brightness level try obtaining the 'Backlight Control' control panel from ftp.apple.com directory dts/util perhaps?
- Purpose is to turn of the backlight after an interval of keyboard and mouse
- inactivity. Interval is variable, mouse movement turns on light (probably
- a key press does too.)
