- I feel sure that the drive does not generate a vacuum. The carts are not
- tightly sealed and a vacuum would just pull dirt in.

- Here is my recommendation:

- Leave the cart in, but unmount it.

- Unmount from the finder. Push the eject button. Let it spin down. Listen for
- the 'kachunk'. Power off. Press the lever to the LEFT. (don't eject the cart).

- I believe the 'kachunk' sound is the heads retracting and the door closing.
- ( can anyone verify this? )

- The cart will be all setup to go when you power on again.

- I have done this for nine months without any problems in a dusty environment.
