  10. Is this a known problem or did this thing just partially die on me....
  11. Symptom:
  12.   Right in the middle of using the word processor, the internal trackball
  13. on my PB170 decided to stop tracking right/left motions.  It didn't die
  14. all at once - at first it was like a dirty roller (i.e. skipping or
  15. stuttering), then after a few minutes it just gave up.

  17. Everything looks clean inside.  When I took the ball out, I pushed on the
  18. little receptor diode (the clear, opaque device on the left inside the
  19. trackball hole) and it would register movement....but only if I fiddled
  20. with it.

  22. What I'd like to know is: is this a common problem with PB170's or did
  23. mine just puke out on me and I'll have to take it in to the money-pit
  24. (aka service person)??
