  20. I have installed several of these systems and use one myself at home with
  21. System 7. The reason I went for this was because of the quality of the
  22. screen as I observed it at MacWorld Expo almost two years ago. The quality
  23. is almost as good as Apple's own monitors and better than most 3rd party
  24. monitors. The accelerator speed is noticibly faster than a stock SE and
  25. maybe even faster than a Mac II. It's hard to say. Theoretically it should
  26. faster than a Mac II but I think there are architechtural differences which
  27. may hamper the Mobius. In any event, mine does not have a math coprocessor
  28. or PMMU.

  30. Most software runs fine on it--certainly Word 4 & 5, Excel 3 & 4, MacDraw
  31. II, THINK compilers, telecommunication programs, etc. Notable exceptions
  32. are programs that use sound. The sound routines in the SE ROM does not work
  33. right with accelerators. Mobius knows this. It can cause my Mac to crash.
  34. So I turn off sound and just live with it.

  38. Maybe. It's cost effective, for sure, and I could not have gotten anywhere
  39. near the package in an upgraded system for anywhere near the price. (sell
  40. the SE, buy a IIcx, monitor, etc.) However, I feel the limits of 4MB RAM
  41. and no color QuickDraw.
