- Hi!
-
- I've recently replaced the hard disk on my Mac II due to the death of my old
- disk. In the process of replacing it, I reinstalled System 7.0.1, my
- control panel devices, extentions, etc. I also installed Tune-Up 1.1.1.
-
- I ran into a problem when reinstalling Mode 32. Seems that this time around
- when I try to activate Mode 32, the bell rings and it won't activate.
- If I try to reboot the system, it comes up part way (i.e., gets as far as
- the "Welcome to Macintosh screen) and dies. It repeats this cycle until I
- boot from a floppy. Then I have to reinstall a fresh copy of the system
- on my hard disk.
-
- What gives? I haven't a clue. I used to run Mode 32 on this very machine.
- Same system, same exact hardware (except for the new disk). I have a PMMU
- installed, but don't have a clue as to what's wrong.
-
- I've even downloaded fresh copies of Mode 32 from ftp.apple.com, to no
- avail.
-
- If you have any ideas/suggestions, please send them to me via e-mail. I will
- post a summary to the net.
-
- Thanks!
-
