- Piece a cake.
- 1) Buy a color card. I'd recommend getting a 24 bit one, but you can be a
- cheapskate (and not get such nice QuickTime movies and image compression
- and stuff) if you get an 8 bit one. My 24bit one was about $500 a year or
- more ago so you should pay less. RasterOps and Micron both make the cards-
- maybe other people- check out any Mac publication for what's available and
- prices.
- 2) Buy a monitor. Probably cost you about $550 for a nice 14".
- 3) Install card- I'd paid someone else $25 to do this. Unless you know what
- you're doing I'd recommend you do this and avoid the hassle.
- 4) Plug monitor into card- note that due to em interference the two screens
- sdould be about 15 cm apart- closer and they will make each other look
- wavy.
- 5) Set up where you want the menubar and such using monitors control
- panel.
- 6) Get neat free software to change screen-depth easily- stuff like
- DepthGauge from sumex-aim.
- 7) Enjoy- I've not come across anything written afte about 1987 that didn't
- work on two screens and didn't deal well with color.
