- We have an SE with an internal and external 20 Meg HD. All the drives
- are Apple equipment. We recently got a IIsi running System 7.01. + Tuneup 1.1.1
- (The SE is running 6.0.8.) Anyway, the external HD reads perfectly on the
- SE, but when hooked up to the IIsi, the IIsi claims the drive unreadable upon
- bootup and offers to initialize it. If I take the drive, power cord and SCSI
- cable back to the SE, the drive is readable again!
-
- I've checked SCSI ID numbers and I tested a CD ROM Drive on the IIsi SCSI port
- just in case the port was bad. In both cases the cabling is a System Cable with
- terminator at the end connected to the HD 20 SC.
-
- Apple HD Setup and Disk First Aid both recognize that *something* is attached
- to port 2, but both claim it to be unreadable if I try to access it. HD Setup
- *does* get the hard drive's name correctly, however. Unfortunately any attempt
- to test it gets a failed when attempting to read data from disk.
-
- I'm just about out of possibilities. Any ideas what could be causing me
- problems? Is there something about Sys 7 I don't know? Are IIsi's compatible
- with HD 20 SC's? Any help, pointers or suggestions would be appreciated.
-
- Thanks in advance.
