- I second Brendan Mahony's comments: if portability and a fast CPU aren't
- the highest priority, the original Mac Portable has much to recommend it.
- It has the same active-matrix LCD as the $3500 PowerBook 170. If display
- quality is important to you, the Mac Portable is worth considering for
- this factor alone. It has plenty of power for routine word processing,
- spreadsheets, small databases, and telecom use. It's a beautiful
- computer at the current used price of about $1000. -LJ
