- Just to clear up a small nit, it's FileMaker Pro 1.0 and FileMaker
- Pro 2.0, Claris has dropped the whole II thing and moved up to the Pro
- designation with seemingly normal version numbers.
- As for FM Pro's file size, they can get quite large, especially if
- you have a lot of Text fields. FM Pro blocks out all 32000 characters of
- space for every text field in each new record. Fortunately you can get
- around this by using FM Pro's Save as Compressed Copy feature. It works
- quite well and will generally clear up 10-50% depending on how many
- changes have been made to your database file since the last Compressed
- Save was done. I use this about once a month on our large FM Pro files.
