- Well, this is a nice, objective, offering: "A mouse is a better all-around
- input device than a trackball." Maybe you could tell us what the best
- color for a house, or a car, is. Do you have a solution to world
- hunger too?
-
- Why be absolute? Everyone's different, and everyone caters to one thing or
- another. I do like a mouse for input better than anything I've tried, but
- they have drawbacks, mostly deskspace, along with locality; they have to be
- pinned to a table or a desk, and you may be typing (like I am right now),
- with your keyboard on your lap, or you might have to use your mouse on an
- airplane tray-table. Not everyone sits upright at a desk in the "proper"
- position and types away like a bookeeper from the 1940's. At least I don't.
-
- In my case, my wrist went bad. I can't use a mouse for any extended time.
- But, a trackball works fine for me. Maybe my thumb will go bad in 10 years
- or so. Then, I'll have to change to a finger pad or an optical system.
- But, for me, a mouse isn't the best choice. The Trackman portable is
- pretty nice. Good design, good feel, and it doesn't hurt. . . .
