-
- Yes, but only an old version that we no longer maintain. The files
- are ISISV21.TAR.Z and ISISV21-DOC.TAR.Z on ftp.cs.cornell.edu (in /pub)
- and also in the UUNET and EUNET archives.
-
- V2.1 is quite old but pretty solid; I only know of a dozen or so
- bugs and all are pretty obscure. But, it is very slow and scales poorly.
-
- There is no public domain version of the more recent versions of ISIS,
- but we think the system is priced pretty low as software goes. V2.2 is
- an academic version of the commercial product and is available for a $500
- site license, on which we (obviously) lose money. V3.0 is the normal
- commercial release, is identical to V2.2, and is licensed according to
- a schedule available from sla@isis.com
-
- These systems are not available in source, except upon payment of a
- source license fee or under certain types of escrow agreements. They
- are distributed in binary and obscured source formats, respectively.
-
- We have a variety of discount schedules for people who want to resell ISIS
- in some way. We try and maintain pricing that is fair and competitive.

-
- Yes.
-

- > environment of workstations? or Is it possible to develop one?
-
- Certainly. Our NMGR product does this, and our META system does a very
- elaborate and sophisticated type of monitoring with reactive control that
- is also fault-tolerant. We plan to release a product based on META but
- in the meantime a public domain version is available, free, from Cornell
- (NMGR is an IDS product). Information on Meta can be requested from
- Prof. Keith Marzullo, marzullo@cs.cornell.edu. NMGR information is
- available from sla@isis.com
