- I've seen lots of companies selling "local bus" machines, but I'm not aware
- that any of them are actually based on the VESA proposal. VESA only voted
- on the proposal on 8/28, and assuming it passed (I haven't heard yet), it is
- now a VESA standard. VESA is going to treat this standard more carefully
- than they've done in the past with things like the VGA standards because
- compliance is important. I believe there will be a testing lab used to verify
- VL-Bus compliance, and companies will certify their hardware through this
- lab and then have the right to use a trademarked/copyrighted/whatever logo
- in sales materials, packaging, etc.

- from companies supporting the standard.
