  10. I have a PS/2 55SX (manufactured circa June 1989) with 4m onboard
  11. memory (2x2m SIMMs) and 16mb on 2 80286 2-8mb expansion options, 8514/a,
  12. 60mb ESDI HD, 1 3.5" 1.44mb floppy.

  14. I'd like to get a larger and faster disk drive (the 60mb is slow,
  15. with average seek in the 30s or 40s I suspect), and an external
  16. tape backup system which would hopefully either attach through
  17. a serial/parallel port or be able to share the disk controller.
  18. My backplane is fully populated (2 memory expansion cards and 1
  19. 8514/a) so I don't have any slots free.

  21. What are my options?  Are there any vendors other than IBM which
  22. supply hard disks that can be used with the ESDI controller that
  23. comes with the 55SX?
