  14.       I'm sorry for the cross posts, but I can't remember where I got the
  15.       answer from the first time!  A month or so ago I wrote in about a
  16.       problem with Win3.1 and WFW 2.0.  One of the problems I was having
  17.       was that any time I would run the dos prompt or any dos application
  18.       I would get the following message:

  21.  
  22.                    Microchannel bus timeout error detected.
  23.                    System halted...
  24.  
  25.       I posted this (along with other problems) to these newsgroups and one
  26.       of the responses I got told me to put a line in my win.ini or system.ini
  27.       files that said something about MCAxxxxx=off or something like that.
  28.       From what I remember (my system crashed shortly after that due to an
  29.       unrelated problem and I lost everything!) it seemed to have done the
  30.       trick.  I think it got rid of the error.  I am hoping to get someone to
  31.       fill in the 'x' 's above.  I'm using a PS/2 model 55.  I would greatly
  32.       appreciate it if someone could help me.  Any other suggestions on this
  33.       problem would also be appreciated.
