- I also got excited about these chip upgrades. But when I looked into
- buying the $995 chip and adding a SCSI board for my P70 and an
- external hard disk, the cost was approaching that of a new Dell 486.
- I agree that our machines can use a speed-up and that the processor
- upgrade will do this. BUT... our model 70s still have 8 bit VGA and
- this can cause a slowdown when using GUIs. I think I'll save my P70
- for traveling and consider a new machine upgrade.
