- Re: Will Gravis ever deliver?
-
- I don't think we'll see Gravis go the way of Adlib. After all, they
- don't just make sound cards, they also make one of the best analog
- joy-sticks on the market (IMHO). They're making a card, it will come,
- maybe a bit late, but if it's quality is anything like their joystick,
- it'll be worth the wait.
-
- Re: Adlib's demise...
-
- Although Adlib messed up (by falling too far behind too fast, I believe),
- they deserve credit for being the company who pioneered affordable game
- sound for the PC. Remember, the Sound-Blaster was after the Adlib and
- was originally toted as "Adlib Compatible" for a reason. Creative
- simply went further and added the voice/record capability. That's where
- they got the edge.
-
- Besides, Adlib is back now with a partly German owner (now called Adlib
- Multi-media, I think). So they were down for awhile, but I don't think
- they're done.
