- EISA is a 32-bit version of ISA. the local bus is NOT an extension or
- part of the ISA or EISA but is a completely different bus. the ISA and
- EISA are system buses that run at a fixed speed in all machines, where
- the local bus runs at the speed of the processor (I may be wrong about
- that, it could run at a fixed speed that is much higher). the
- possible problem with this is that a card that runs in your 50MHz
- machine may not run in a future 100MHz machine because it can't
- handle the faster speed.
