- I have a SCSI-based (Adaptec 1542B) 486, running ISC Unix 2.0.2.
- I also have an old, slow IDE-based 386, running MSDOS 5.0.
-
- I am interested in retiring the 386 (or at least back-burnering it),
- by yanking its IDE drive, and placing it in the SCSI-based system along
- with the extant SCSI drive.
-
- Question:
- How do I switch between booting from the SCSI side (for UNIX) and
- the IDE side( For DOS)? Use of VPIX under unix is NOT the solution,
- at least this year, unfortunately.
-
- I am willing to write C code if someone can point me in the right
- direction for documentation on how these gismos work, or
- to purchase and/or download equivalent facilities.
-
-
- Thanks... Bob
