  30. Bad advice.  This is simply not true, for at least two reasons.  First off,
  31. McAffee's product is a scanner, and there are limitations to what a scanner
  32. can detect.
  33.  
  34. Secondly, there is a well-known bug in V93 (and V91?) of MacAffee's scanners
  35. that results in an inability to find all infected files if there is a
  36. widespread infection.  No one should trust MacAffee as their sole
  37. anit-viral these days.

  39. Lastly, let me remind folks that both MacAffee and F-Prot are shareware.
  40. The registration fee for MacAffee is quite high; The author of
  41. F-Prot permits folks to use it for free (no registration) for personal
  42. use.  The commercial registration fee is extremely reasonable ($1.00
  43. per PC per year, $0.75 per PC per year for educational institutions).
